Also known as “wine dating”, wine tasting dating is something a little different from your normal speed dating event. It was thought up by Grape Vine Social who were looking for something a “more stylish singles’ party than 3 minute speed dating.”
“Wine dating” can be boiled down to a speed dating and wine tasting session mixed together. Some organisers may provide you with a wine tasting expert and some information on the wines you’ll taste, whereas other organisers may just provide you with the wine and people to meet. Thankfully, you do not need to be a wine expert to join in and you do get to dress up smart for the occasion.
You’ll be in small groups of 3 to 4 ladies and gents, and it’ll work like a normal speed dating event. However, each time you swap over, you’ll get a new wine to try. So at least the icebreaker is provided for you! Although there is a charge (sometimes it can be a little pricy due to the type of wine on offer) the organisers will sometimes offer cheese or fruit alongside the wine.
