Being single and back on the dating scene can be a minefield at the best of times, but add in the fact you are a single parent and it becomes even more daunting.
Dating becomes harder as you find yourself juggling your own life as well as being a parent. It means you have to rely on family and friends even more as babysitters so you can spend time getting to know your potential love interest.
The main worry most single parents have is when do they introduce a new partner to their children? After a week? A month? Just go with your gut instincts, if you think that your relationship will stand the test of time then go ahead and maybe plan a nice picnic or a trip to the park, ensuring the attention is on your child. Children are an exceptionally good judge of character and if your child feels instantly at ease it will elevate the pressure. If you experience problems with introducing a new partner into your nest, do not force the situation. Keep persevering but move at your child’s pace, it just means that the process will take time.
