In the past month I have been described as brutally honest more times than I care to remember. One problem I have is that when dating I need to keep take a step back from my independent, strong minded self and in a way let the man take over. It may well be a very antiquated look on equality however I am finding that men are slightly intimidated, strong women. Which actually made me question my online dating profile and does it actually make me look too intelligent?
In a day of age where we are generally lazier than generations gone by, this can be proved quite easily with the state of many dating profiles on show. I am a stickler for punctuation and grammar and with most dating sites allowing you the option to view a segment of a potential interest’s profile before you click on them, I can easily bypass a lovely guy simply based on his literacy.
Conversations on dating websites and online can flow freely due to the fact you have more time to spend constructing a well thought out initial message or reply. On a date when you are face to face with your date and very conscious about making a good first impression conversation can become stunted.
Fear not though as here are some non-intrusive question ideas which will hopefully pave the way to showing you are interested in the other party and could cement a second date!
1. What would be the first item you bought if you won the lottery?
2. What 5 things would you put in Room 101?
3. Where is your favourite place to visit?
4. What superhero would you be and what would be your special power?
5. If you were competing in the Olympics which sport would you compete in?
These are definitely “thinking” questions, without being too personal. It will show your date that you are interested in them and what they have to say. Not only that but you will also be able gauge a great deal about their personality and how they think. They are definitely fun and unexpected questions which will pave the way to a good first date!
